Andrew Gerrard, age 37 of Tuscaloosa, passed peacefully from this earthly life into eternal life on Sunday, June 5, 2022 following a courageous battle against sarcoma cancer. There will be a funeral mass Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church Chapel with Father Michael Deering officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church chapel. Burial will follow in the church columbarium. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank M. Giardina and Evelyn Giardina and paternal grandparents, Kelly Howell Gerrard, Sr. and Martha Gerrard. He is survived by his sister, Shelly Gerrard Orr (Lee) of Tuscaloosa; brother, John F. Gerrard of Gulf Shores; parents, Kelly Howell Gerrard, Jr. and Sheila G. Gerrard; and niece and goddaughter, Cecilia Pearson Orr of Tuscaloosa who was the joy and light of his life. Andrew was born on August 22, 1984 in Oxford, MS and was raised across the south – Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama. He graduated high school from Saint Bernard Preparatory School in Cullman in 2003 and went on to earn a degree in Industrial Electronics from Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL. Following college and travels to the northwest, Andrew owned and operated a successful, full-service ice business along the Alabama Gulf Coast and Florida in partnership with his brother. Andrew was lovingly and loyally devoted to his Catholic faith and his family throughout his entire life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center (809 University Blvd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401) that provided tremendous care to him over the past 3 years.
