Willie “Peck” James Haley, age 82, of Berry, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at DCH Tuscaloosa. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Berry. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.
He was preceded in death by his father; Lee Haley, mother; Bertha Haley, brothers; Sammy Haley and Leon Haley.
Survivors include his wife; Peggy Haley, daughters; Barbara Haley and Alma “Lee” Haley, Son; Aruthur Haley, grandchildren; Latoyra wells (Richard Wells), Albert “Chris” Haley (Dangela Haley), Miracle Johnson, Carson Berry, Aisha Haley, and Jada Haley, and great grandchildren; Kilah Haley, Aniyah “Skye” Haley, Aaliyah Wells, Riley Montogomery, Kingston Haley, Huntleigh Haley, and Kaden Mitchell.
He spent his life in Berry, Alabama, with his beloved wife and family. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, family gatherings and cheering on Auburn football. He was a dedicated deacon at Mt. Mariah Baptist church. He was a great teacher who loved sharing his knowledge and life experiences with others, and he especially cherished his grandbabies. Willie never met a stranger. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, and he always had a story to tell or a life lesson to share with anyone willing to listen. His kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
