Viola Mae Cole, age 93 of Fayette, AL, passed away on Saturday, June 07, 2025, at Fayette Long Term Care. Service for Ms. Cole will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, at 2:00 p.m. She will lie in state one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Cedar Oak Cemetery in Tuscaloosa, AL. Rev. James Earl Anderson will be officiating the service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.
Viola Mae Cole was born on December 18, 1930, to Ada Lacey and Lee Albert Brewer in Fayette, Alabama.
She attended school in Covin, Alabama. She united with Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church and later with Victory Temple House of Refuge.
She was married to the late Clyde Cole, Sr., and to that union 11 children were born.
She loved to cook, sew, work her puzzle books, dominoes and fishing. She loved red birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies. She always said the red birds were angels coming to see about you.
Viola is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Cole, Sr.; five sons: Clyde Cole, Jr., Bobby Cole, Larry Cole, James Cole and Timothy Cole; and two daughters: Linda Faye Cole, and Jessie Elice Cole.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, three daughters: Sally Rodgers, Mary Sparks (Stevie), and Ada Cole; one son, Willie Cole all of Fayette, Alabama; three wonderful daughters-in-law: Betty Cole, Kim Cole and Charlene Cole; three adopted daughters: Vanessa Pugh, Kay Edmonds, and Pauline Branyon; one adopted son, Tony McMullen; 27 grandchildren, a host of greats, great-greats and great-great-great grandchildren.
