Obituary

Troy E. Pruitt, age 70 of Fayette, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services for Mr. Pruitt will be Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. He will lie in state one hour prior to service time. Rev. Carlos Moore Jr. will be officiating the service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Troy Earl Pruitt, affectionally known as “TingTang” was the tenth child born to the late Servanis and Farris Pruitt on July 24, 1955. 

Troy was educated in the Fayette County school system,graduating with the Fayette County High School class of 1973. He loved to tell jokes and keep people laughing all the time. After high school he enlisted into the United States Army.

He became a self-employed as a concrete worker and provided lawn service to many. He was a member of Unity Grove Baptist Church where he was faithful usher until his health failed him. He also drove the church van.

Troy is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; his brother; Troy Lee Pruitt; sister, Loma France, and wife, Sophia.

He is survived by four sisters: Nina Louise Whitson, Doris Parks, Gloria Solomon, and Virginia Sullivan; three brothers: Lomis Pruitt, Jimmy Pruitt, and A.M. Pruitt; a treasured friend, Shelley Cleveland and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
