Teresa Kay Gillum

Teresa Kay Gillum, age 74 of Fayette, passed away at her home Friday, January 13, 2023. Services for Mrs. Gillum will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Bradley Cox officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Teresa Kay Davis Gillum was born on May 14, 1948, in Frankfort, IN to Dale and Irma Davis. She was a graduate of Frankfort High School and attended Ball State University majoring in Art. In June of 1968, she married Greg Gillum. They moved to Fayette, AL in 1973 with their son, Chris. Teresa attended MUW (Mississippi State University for Women) to continue her art studies. In 1977, she started Fayette Office Supply and operated it until 1997. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in education. Teresa began teaching full-time at Central High School West, and later retired from Paul W. Bryant High School. Teresa had a love of community, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and The Progress Club. Everyone most knew her for her love of art, and her amazing quilts. Teresa said her greatest art was her quilts. Teresa loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Irma Davis, brother Max Davis, and husband Greg Gillum. She is survived by her son Chris Gillum (Susan), daughter Audrie Johnson (Jerry), grandchildren, Jordan Hubbert (Anjeleah), Saige Wyma (Marissa), Jillian Gillum, and Natalee Ward, along with 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
