Simeon Wright

Simeon Wright, age 71 of Fayette AL, passed away on Thursday, June 06, 2024, at Hospice of West Alabama. 

Simeon Tankersly Wright III (Sim) was a fun-loving people person who lived most of his life in Fayette AL. He was known to help friends in need and one to give a home to any stray dog, that quickly became part of the Wright family. Sim was the son of the late Simeon Tankersly Wright Jr. and the late Sara Kate Branyon Wright. 

Being a graduate of Fayette County High School (Class of 1971) and the University of Mississippi (Class of 1975), where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice, Sim began a career in law enforcement. 

He joined the Fayette First Methodist Church at a early age. However, over the past 15 years, he attended Calvary Baptist Church Sunday school class, lead by Doaks Oswalt. 

He leaves behind a sister, Susan W. Dodson, who loves him dearly, brother-in-law, Jerry Dodson, and, most of all, his beloved dogs. 

A private service will be held at the Family Cemetery, McConnell Cemetery. Long-time family friend Gaines Oswalt (Doaks) will lead the service.
