Sarah Stough Sexton, age 86, of Fayette, Alabama, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Fayette Long Term Care. There will be a Graveside Service Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be 15 minutes prior to service time. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband; Lowell Sexton, and parents; Thomas and Ruth A. Jane Stough.

She is survived by her son; Lowell (Bettina) Sexton of Montgomery, Alabama, sister; Sherry Stough (Randy) Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, grandchild; Sarah Savannah Frances Sexton of Montgomery, Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sarah Sexton, born on December 30, 1938, in Fayette, Alabama, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. A lifelong resident of Fayette County, Sarah graduated as valedictorian of Fayette County High School in 1957. That same year, she married the love of her life, Lowell Sexton, and together they shared a devoted and loving marriage that lasted 68 years.

Sarah’s life was defined by her deep love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her steadfast principles. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt always putting the needs of those she loved above her own. Her joy for life was evident in her passions—especially Alabama football, which she cheered for enthusiastically.

A gifted musician, Sarah shared her talents generously with her church and community. She served as choir director at Berry Methodist Church, president of the Fayette Music Study Club, and as a cherished member of the choir at Fayette First Methodist Church.

Sarah also contributed to her community through her work at the McNeese Clinic and later at Sears, where she was known for her kindness, diligence, and warm spirit.

Sarah will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her beautiful voice, strong faith, and loving heart leave a legacy that will endure for generations.
