Mrs. Sara Walton Price, age 90 of Fayette, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Fayette Long Term Care Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bobby Robbins and Rev. Will Corbett officiating. A private family burial will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Price; brothers, Alvin, Raymond “Buddy”, Howard, Earl, and Barney Walton; sisters, Margaret McDonald, and Nell Shelton. Mrs. Price is Survived by her son, Tommy Price (Teresa); daughters, Nancy Alderson (John) and Nina Treadway; Grandchildren, Anna Rasbury (Michael), Brandy Black, Matthew Treadway (Michelle), Kyle Treadway and Cristina McLellan; great-grandchildren, Ryder Black, Layla Rose Black, Tilley Grace Rasbury and Mia Tatum; brothers, Benjamin Walton (Gerane) and James Walton; sisters, Bessie Ham and Billie Anna Walton. Mrs. Price was born November 14, 1930, the daughter of the late Lucious and Floy Walton. She was a lifetime resident of Fayette. She graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a degree in Nursing and spent the next 25 years as a Registered Nurse at Fayette Medical Center. She was a longtime member of Unity Baptist Church. Her family would like to thank Annette Billups and Jeanie Harcrow for their dedication to Mamasada’s care in the last months at home and to Fayette Long Term Care Facility for their outstanding care during her time there. Special appreciation to daughter-in-law, Teresa for her continuous love and care throughout the years and to her granddaughters, Anna Rasbury and Brandy Black for their enduring care, love, and unconditional efforts through the years. Brandy’s love and care made it possible for Mamasada to continue to live at home and have a full and meaningful life. They shared a special relationship that was beneficial to them both. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Price’s memory to Unity Baptist Church, 10 Camp Comfort Road, Fayette, AL 35555.
