Ryan Perry

February 16, 1994 — May 21, 2021

Ryan Scott Perry, 27, passed away in the early morning hours Friday, May 21, 2021 in his hometown of Northport. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the church. Ryan was born in Tuscaloosa on February 16, 1994 to Scott and Theresa Perry. A 2012 graduate of Northside High School, where he played both football and baseball for the Rams. Ryan was passionate about sports, friends and family. He was also a dedicated older brother and someone who fiercely loved his parents, grandparents, family, and friends. During his childhood, Ryan was able to spend precious moments with his family in Major League Baseball parks across the country and sports would become both a way to bond with his family, while also being the source for incalculable memories that will be forever cherished. He loved spending time at Walt Disney World with his family and taking trips to the beach with friends. As an adult, Ryan understood the value of hard work, as he would take on other jobs, many times with his Dad, while simultaneously pursuing his dream of becoming a full-time football coach. During his coaching career, Ryan left an indelible impact on countless young men during his stops at Collins-Riverside Middle, Holy Spirit schools, Tuscaloosa County High School and Carbon Hill High School. Ryan also touched the lives of every friend he made. Quick with a joke and living life as if he were 10 feet tall, his warmth and passion for life will be sorely missed by those whose lives he blessed each day with his positivity and friendship. Ryan Perry is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert Olivero and Donnise Perry and is survived by his father, Scott Perry; mother, Theresa Perry; brother, Alex Perry (Karley); sister, Sydney Perry; grandmother, Elaine Olivero; and grandfather, Roger Perry, and numerous family members. Pallbearers will be Alex Perry, Brad Phillips, Connor Shelton, Ryan Hudson, Hunter Harper, Connor Long and Taylor Barnette. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Dyer, Patrick Gear, Gage Green, Christian Hannah, Landan Parson, PJ Guy, Mark Cochran and Dale Phillips. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Northside High School Football Program, 19230 Northside Pkwy, Northport, AL 35475 ATTN: Football and Carbon Hill Football Program, 217 Bulldog Blvd., Carbon Hill, AL 35549, ATTN: Football.
