Richard "Crocket" Watkins

Richard "Crocket" Watkins, age 31 of Bankston AL, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. Services for Crocket will be Friday, February 23, 2024, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service. 

Crocket is preceded in death by his father; Gary “Rick” Watkins, grandparents; Melvin Adams, Martha Adams, and Mary Wilson, uncle; Melvin Junior Adams, and Bobby Earl Adams. 

He is survived by his mother; Minnie Faye Watkins, son; Landon Athens Downing, sister; Kriston (Dennis) Swindle Adams, niece; Miranda Payton Adams, nephew; Dennis Henry Adams, and three half-sisters; Katie Turner, Jessica Earls, and Mandy Watkins. 

Richard Crocket Watkins was born on May 27, 1992 to Rick and Faye Watkins. His father passed away when he was 2 and then at age 3 he got a step dad, Chris Swindle. Six years later his little sister was born. He attended Fayette County High School and grew up in Belk. He moved away to live with his Uncle Bubba in Boligee later moving back home to be with his mom on 102. He passed away on Feb 18th at Princeton Hospital. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Chris “OC” Finch, Jessie James, Shannon Lollar, Josh Wilson, Chris Wilson, Nick Wilson, Chad Wilson, Josh Sparks, Jeremy Sanford.
