Richard (Ricky) Gay, Jr.m, age 77, of Fayette, Alabama, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at DCH of Tuscaloosa. He was born on September 16, 1948, to the late Richard Gay, Sr. and Mrs. Lola Gay. Services for Mr. Gay will be Monday, May 18, 2026, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, at 12:00 p.m. He will Lie-In-State one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Timothy Whitson will be officiating the service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Richard was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife, Rachel Gay. At an early age, he confessed Christ as his Savior and became a faithful member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained devoted throughout his life.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his beloved wife, Rachel Gay; his mother, Lola Gay; his sister, Rose Mary Gay; brother, Corey Fleming and family; his sisters-in-law: Eula Robinson, Rosetta Nalls, and Gloria Nalls; one aunt, Annette Grigley.

He also leaves behind bonus children, whom he loved dearly: Jason Robinson, Sr., Johnny Robinson, Jr., Jason Robinson, Jr., and Jasmine Robinson.

Richard will also be lovingly remembered by a host of uncles, aunts, two special nieces, Donna Wilson and Sheniece Nalls and other nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

His kindness, wisdom, humor, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
