Patsy Ann Sexton McCool

April 25, 1937 — November 8, 2017

Patsy Ann Sexton McCool, age 80, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Fayette Long Term Care Center, where she resided for almost 9 years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dan McCool; daughter, Jacquelyn McCool Montgomery (Martin); brother, Billy Sexton, sister-in-law, Barbara Sexton; and grandchildren, Rebecca and Jessica Dover, Ashley, Lukus, Kourtlyn, Justin and Maleah Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Floy Sexton; and brother, Marvin H. Sexton, Jr.     Services will be Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Chris McCool and Rev. Tim McCool officiating.  The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Visitation will be immediately following the burial.     Patsy was saved as a child at Holt Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa. She worked at Bryce Hospital in medical records for 30 years where she made life long friendships.  She attended Hannah United Methodist Church while living in Gordo for 30+ years and attended Mt. Olive Baptist and Grant's Creek Baptist ten years prior to entering long term care.    Patsy was all about taking care of her family and home.  She was passionate about keeping everything clean and tidy.  She loved butterbeans, cutting grass, the color orange and talking on the phone.    Pallbearers will be Mack Fair (friend), Sammy Strothers (nephew), David Sexton (nephew), Marty Montgomery (son-in-law), Lukus Montgomery (grandson) and Justin Montgomery (grandson).     Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Owens, Mary Wilson, Monica Dumpson and other staff at Fayette Long Term Care Center and Southern Care Hospice.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Primitive Baptist Church.
