Myrtle Watkins

Myrtle Watkins, age 89 of Fayette, passed away September 2, 2017 at Hospice of West Alabama.  Services will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Bankston Baptist Church with Rev. David Howe officiating.  Interment will follow at Boone Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Watkins; her son, Eugene Watkins; and sisters, Helen Mueller and Judy Parr. Survivors include her sons, Jack Watkins and Larry Watkins (Julie); sisters, Ruth Mauney, Mildred Pritchett, Icie Mae Logan, Marie Beckman, Bonnie Kizzire, and Patty Westbrooks; brothers, Jerry Parr and Ray Parr; her nine grandchildren, Tammy Watkins Vaughn, Amy Watkins, Jamie Watkins, Daniel Watkins, Dewight Watkins, Jason Watkins, Matthew Watkins, Alan Watkins, Regina Watkins Hunter, and Trinity Watkins; and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Watkins was a life-long resident of Fayette County.  She was a member of Bankston Baptist Church. She spent many years working in garment plants in Millport, Northport, and Fayette.
