Max C. Wilson, age 86 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Al. The family will have a private service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Max was born in Jackson, Tennessee and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Max was a proud Tuscaloosa High School Black Bear graduate who also studied drafting at the University of Alabama. He began his career with Gulf States Paper and later retired from BF Goodrich as a Senior Lead Draftsman. He was a passionate member of the 5th Alabama Regimental Band, Tuscaloosa Winds, Boy Scouts of America, and First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. Max also enjoyed coaching Little League football and serving as a Scoutmaster to many generations of young men.

Max was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Martha Louise (Sherrill) Wilson; beloved son, Max Scott Wilson; father, William Wallace Wilson; mother, Ouida Brewer Wilson; brother, Bernarr Wilson; and sister, Tulane Duke.

Max is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Condon Wilson; sons, Jeff Wilson and John Wilson (Lynn); grandchildren, Ian B. Wilson, Erin E. Wilson, Morgan L. Wilson, Wm. Kaine Wilson, Alexandria L. Wilson, Kelsi L. Wilson, and J. Luke Wilson; great-grandson Silas Wilson Smith; siblings, Beverly Antonini, Sandra Nail (Lowell), Joy Volkan (Ara), Royce Wilson (Gloria), and Erroll Wilson (Chabela); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary friends are The Globe Etcetera, CSA 5th Alabama Regimental Band, Boy Scouts of America Black Warrior Council Troop 10, and the Tuscaloosa High School Class of '57.
