Mary R. Walker, age 98, of Fayette, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, March 01, 2026, at her residence. Services for Mrs. Walker will be Thursday, March 05, 2026, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Rev. Caleb Hall will be officiating the service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Mary is preceded in death by her first husband; Fred McArthur, second husband; Charles Walker, parents; Forney and Effie Roberson, brothers; Eddison Roberson and William F. “Bill” Roberson, and sister; Odie Mae Owen.

She is survived by her daughters; Kimberly McArthur (Robert) Spiller of Fayette, step daughter; Betsy Walker (Jim) Adams of Fayette, sister; Patrcia “Pat” (Jerry) Lowe of Fulton, MS., brother; Brent (Cheryl) Roberson of Tupelo, MS., grandchildren; Wesley (Kasie) Spiller, Walker Adams, and Charlie Adams, and great-grandchildren; Kaylee and Colton Spiller.

Mary was a devoted member of the Fayette Church of Christ. She worked for the Weems Furniture Company, where she faithfully served until her retirement. Mary had a deep love for gardening and golf, and she especially enjoyed being an active member of her local gardening club. She found great joy in nurturing her plants and sharing her passion with others. In 1944, she married Fred Thomas McArthur, Kim’s dad. After Freds passing in 1977, she married Charles Walker in 1983, Betsy’s dad.

Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who will forever cherish the love, warmth, and kindness she shared with everyone around her.

Pallbearers will be Robert Spiller, Wes Spiller, Aaron Powell, and Brent Roberson.
