Mary Ann Trierweiler Lake passed away on 12/28/2020 at the age of 74. Mary was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin on November 2, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents George H Trierweiler and Marion G Trierweiler and brothers Paul, Joe and Guy Trierweiler, sister Georgeann Trierweiler and infant son John Patrick Lake. She is survived by daughter Jennifer Anderson (Steve), sons Robert Lake (Michelle), George Lake (Lisa), and Paul Lake, niece Tonia Trierweiler Mitchell (Terry) and nephew Walter Trierweiler (Lisa). Grandchildren are Chace Lake, Garrett Lake, Sydney Lake, Avery Lake, Grace Anne Lake, Mary Beth Lake, Sarah Kidwell Sella (Nick), Catherine Kidwell Gillott (Chase), Anna Kidwell, John Robert Kidwell and special sister-in-law Betty Holliman and nephews Steven and David Holliman. Mary was a resident of Moundville for 50 years. In her early years the family moved from Madison, Wisconsin to Santa Rosa Beach Florida. The family then moved to Saraland, Alabama where Mary enjoyed her middle and high school years. Mary graduated from Satsuma high school, class of 65, and attended Springhill College. Mary moved to New Orleans where she met Robert "Bob" Lake whom she married. Mary worked at Parisian and Belk for 20 years and enjoyed serving her many loyal customers. She was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church for 50 years. Mary loved spending time guiding and teaching children. She taught hundreds of children in religious classes and was a Girl Scout leader to many. Christ was the center of her life. She passed that love of Christ and the Church to the children she taught and to her own children and grandchildren. She was a selfless giver and a tireless worker for Christ's Kingdom. Mary had a deep love for the unborn and was a lifelong pro-life advocate. She had many talents, from playing drums in a local band while in high school to always wining the family trivial pursuit marathons at the annual family beach trip. Mom valiantly fought a fierce 7 year battle against breast cancer. The things that sustained her those 7 years was her strong faith in God, her prayers and the prayers of others, love of life and family. She was a wonderful mom and grandmother and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers are Chace Lake, Garrett Lake, John Robert Kidwell, Nick Sella, Garrett Anderson, Parker Anderson, Steve Anderson and Chase Gillott. Honorary Pallbearers are Greg and Debra McCray, Kristin Mullenix, Robin Kelley, Mike Freeman, Wanda Austin, Sandra Ryan, Barbara Glover, Freida Smithson, Andrew Dillard, Dan Tidwell, Loren and Lisa Huffaker, Tuscaloosa Cursillistas, members of Saint Vincent DePaul and the many friends in the Moundville Community. Services will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial to follow at Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. There will be a rosary on Friday, January 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel in charge of arrangements.
