Mary “Yvonne” Cox (better known simply as Gmaw to many), was born on April 10, 1950 in Meridian, MS to James Bradley “Jim” Suttles, Sr and Mary E. “Jet” Suttles. She was a homemaker for most of her life and later became a housekeeper at East MS State Hospital in Meridian where she worked hard for many years. When she retired, she moved to AL to be a full time Gmaw-her favorite job. She spent her days taking care of her grandkids and her furbabies. She never met a stranger and loved to talk. She always tried to look for the bright side in every situation and to see the good in everyone. She worried about everyone but herself. She was the most selfless person you’d ever meet. She was funny and always tried to make everyone laugh. She was stubborn and hardheaded, but loved without fear. Not many knew but she didn’t get her driver’s license until she was 50 years old but when she did get her license she kept the roads hot in her little red Neon. She was definitely an animal lover and many said she was an animal whisperer. She always wanted to make sure nobody was hungry and had the biggest sweet tooth ever. The world will never be the same without her in it. Yvonne will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
