Margene Lancaster

Margene Lancaster, age 87, of Ralph, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, November 09, 2025, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. There will be a Graveside Service Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dan Arsenault will be officiating the service. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Margene is preceded in death by her husband; Don Lancaster, sister; Judy Howard, and parents; George and Margie Rushing.

She is survived by her daughter; Melinda Sanders, son; Brad (Kelly) Lancaster, grandchildren; Chasity Sanders, Joshua Lancaster, Emma Grace Lancaster, great-grandchildren; Bellamy Lugo and Blakely Lugo, nieces; Carla (Tim) King, Patti Poole, and nephews; Wesley King and Jacob King.

Margene loved life and everyone around her. She spent her time on this earth caring for her family and for others. This love was shown to the children she took care of at Tinkerbell Daycare for many years, and then to the patients at DCH where she was a phlebotomist for 10 years. She also loved the Alabama Crimson Tide and would watch every game they played up until the very end.

Margene loved her family fiercely. Her strength and devotion as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, reflected the depth of love and dedication to her family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the wonderful nursing staff and hospice staff at Glenhaven Nursing Home, Dr. John Warren, and friends of Shiloh, Ralph, and Jena Communities.
