Linda Justice Simpson passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025 in Northport, Alabama. She was born on April 13, 1944 to Garland and Olean Watson Justice in St. Clair County, Alabama where she lived until the family moved to Childersburg, Alabama in 1956.

Funeral services will be provided by Norwood-Wyatt Funeral Chapel of Fayette, Alabama with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating. The service will take place at Sulphur Springs FWB Church, 21048 Old Jasper Rd., Northport, Alabama on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:00 p.m. Burial will be immediately after the service in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

After graduating in the Class of 1962 at Childersburg High School, she attended Alverson Draughn Business College in Birmingham. Returning to Childersburg, she worked at Beaunit Mills for several years. Her education at Alverson Draughn served her well years later when she moved to Northport, Alabama and began working for Elk Roofing, eventually becoming the administrative assistant for the General Manager. This was the job she held until she retired after a 35-year career with the company.

She had the ultimate green thumb and loved working in her yard. She and Jerry spent countless hours laying rock, planting shrubs and flowers, and then sitting back and enjoying the fruits of their labors. She had a passion for discovering dead relatives and meeting and visiting with live ones as often as she could and loved sharing the stories and details with anyone that was interested. Documenting her life and those she loved with photos using her artistic talents was a creative outlet that she discovered later in life but one she embraced with gusto and left us with many wonderful treasures because of it.

She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy as well as several other genealogical organizations.

Her husband, Jerry Simpson, was the love of her life and they had twenty wonderful, fun, loving years together before he passed away.

Life would never be the same for her after that and she was so thankful for the cherished memories she held close to her heart until her death.

Family was very important to Linda, and she treasured the times spent with them especially her grandchildren. She had precious memories of growing up with her sister and a close-knit group of cousins and maintained those close relationships with them right up until her death.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Simpson and her parents, Garland and Olean Watson Justice. She is survived by her daughter, Allison Bell (Ken), son Todd Teague, step-sons Steve Simpson (Patty), and Kevin Simpson (Monica). Her grandchildren, Josh Bell, Jessica Poor (Ryan), Taylor, Clay, and Wesly Teague, Keri Simpson, and Casey Simpson and one great-grandchild, Margot Poor. She also leaves one sister, Freida Hillard (Larry) and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Joyce Allen, Brenda Haynie, Cassandra Swindle, Helen Simpson, and Patty Simpson for their love, friendship, and devotion to our mother over the years. She loved you all dearly and treasured your friendship.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sulphur Springs Church or your local animal shelter.
