L.B. Walker, age 78 of Fayette, passed away on Thursday, May 25, at DCH Medical Center. Service for Mr. Walker will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home, he will lie in state one hour prior. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, at the Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Burial will follow after the funeral on Thursday at Bankhead - Mckinney Cemetery in Fayette, Alabama.
L. B. spent most of his working life as a personal care assistant at the Fayette County Nursing Home and then privately for a number years. He enjoyed watching westerns, Auburn football and the Denver Broncos. He loved his family and listening to and singing gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clovis and Nellie Walker, sister Vertie Wilson and brothers J.C. and Hubert Walker. His memories will be cherished by daughters; Connie(Willie) Billups of Silver Creek, Ga., Ericka(Samuel) Cole of Olive Branch, Ms., Sons- Scott(Tracey) Walker of Fayette, Al., Corneliues(Angela) Walker of Tuscaloosa, Al. and Jimmy Ray(Aretha) Brock, Fayette, Al. Grandchildren- Gianna Walker, Dietenheim, Germany and Marley Walker of Weingarten, Germany, Ja'Korey(BreyAnna) Walker of Iowa City, IA and Caleigh Walker of Vernon, Al., Great Grandchildren- LaDessa and EmmaLee Walker of Iowa City, IA. Sisters- Maxine, Ola and Blonnie Walker all of Fayette, Al., Annie Hollinsworth, Tuscaloosa, Al.,
Mellcine Salter, Louisville, Ky., Nellcine Johnson Holly Springs, Ms. and Alice Hollingsworth, Berry, Al., Brothers- James, Norah and Richard Walker all of Fayette, Al. and his special friend of many years Sarah Whitson.
