Laverne Leonard

Laverne Leonard, age 79, of the Hubbertville Community, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at DCH. Services will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Berea Church of Christ with James Wyers and Jimmy McNeess officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Leonard; parents, Marvin Wiser and Gladys Rebecca Warren; brother, Joe Wiser and sister Carolyn Beverly. Laverne is survived by her daughter, Terri (Andrew) Hilgenberg of Cottondale; son, Mark L. Leonard of Yulee, FL; brother, Richard (Lynn) Wiser of TN; four grandchildren, David Christopher Taylor, Mary Elizabeth Leonard Mitchell, Megan Amanda Taylor Carter and Johnathon Robert Leonard and three great grandchildren. Laverne was a member of Berea Church of Christ and enjoyed inspirational and Christian poetry. She also assisted her husband in his many years of ministry. She was a member of the Hubbertville Community for eighteen years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berea church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
