Joseph "Bud" Wesley Morrison, age 91 of Bankston, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his residence. Service for Mr. Morrison will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2025, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.
Bud is preceded in death by his wife; Myrtle Morrison, daughter; Twana G. Gilbert, parents; Joe Morrison and Loretta Morrison, sons-in-law; Danny Gilbert and Cecil Odom, daughter-in-law; Janice Morrison, and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters; Carolyn Odom and Cathy (Ronny) Dunn, sons; Jerry (Barbara) Morrison, Allen Morrison, and Ryan (Lindsay) Morrison, sisters; Frances Sanford, Sue (Steve) Skelton, Kay (ED) Nelson, brothers; Eddie Joe (Mae) Morrison, Herbert (Janice) Morrison, and Hubert (Cindy) Morrison, 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Joseph “Bud” Morrison was born in Fayette, Alabama. He married Myrtle Lowery in 1952, and was married for 63 years before she passed away. They farmed for years and in 1970 he went into the logging business with his sons and logged until retirement in 2016. Bud enjoyed cows and farm animals and enjoyed cutting hay with his son Allen. He was a very generous person and would help anyone in need. He went to Mexico and helped build a church. Bud prayed all the time even in his sickness, he always called upon the lord. He loved his family and was always glad when people would come by. Bud will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Odom, Joey Smith, Micheal Odom, Andrew Odom, Matthew Morrison, Jordon Morrison, David Morrison, Ethan Morrison, Wesley Morrison, Timothy Morrison, and Daniel Morrison.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nora and James Newby, Amedisys Home Health, and Dr. Nolen and staff.
