John Benjamin "Ben" Wilson

Mr. John Benjamin “Ben” Wilson, age 79, of Fayette, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at home. Ben accepted Christ at a very young age and became a member of New Friendship Baptist Church where he was still an active member at the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyce and Bessie Wilson; and his son, Greg Wilson. Survivors include his daughters, Vicky Patterson (Sam), Felicia Savage, Kim Stepp, Eleane Savage, and Ashley Thompson; his sons, Deneral Walker (Jenee), Jackie Wilson (Nichole), Dwight Wilson, and Charles Frazier; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Wilson loved people and people loved him. He had many hobbies which included playing the guitar, working on cars and driving racecars, and hunting and fishing. You could also hear him singing in the church choir and playing the harmonica at church. He especially enjoyed watching Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. Services will be Friday, November 15, 2019 at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Humphries officiating.  Interment will follow at New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
