John R. Smith

John Rufus Smith, age 86 of Winfield, passed away on May 12, 2023, at Winfield Senior Care. Services for Mr. Smith will be Monday, May 15, at 3:00 P.M. with visitation one hour prior to service time at New Liberty Baptist Church. A burial will follow at the church cemetery. Bro. Adam Smith and Bro. Brian Price will be officiating the service.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; Burvil and Rosie Smith, Daughters; Mary Ann Homes and Sonja Lee Johnson, and sister; Imogene Tyler.

He is survived by his wife; Curtis Ann Smith, Daughters; Rebecca Jane Poor, Angela Kay Gardener, Teresa Ann Atchley, and Sharon Renee Key, son; Teddy Lee Jacks, Sister; Louise Flynn, brother; Mack Smith, with 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Burk Wayne Marlin, Justin James Smith, Josh Sowers, Michael Mosely, and Gilbert Sowers.
