Joe Hayden Robertson

Joe Hayden Robertson, age 73, of Gulf Shores formerly of Fosters passed away June 30, 2018 in Gulf Shores.  Graveside services will be Monday, July 2, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ralph with Dr. Levy Corey officiating and Norwood-Wyatt Chapel directing.  Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, George F. Robertson, Sr. and Cliffie Robertson; brother, Gene Robertson; grandparents, Hayden Parham and Elizabeth (Momma Lizzie) Robertson, and Fred and Alice Redding. Survivors include his wife, Mary Dean Collins Robertson; daughters, Mary Jo Johnson (John) and Sandra Delane Robertson; sisters, Nancy Avery (Billy) and Dianne Wyatt; brother, George Robertson (Renee); grandchildren, Jordan Ashley Johnson, John Michael Johnson and Hayley Ann Howell. Joe worked at Gulf States Paper Corporation and Southern National Gas Company before starting his own logging company.  He was in the National Guard from 1965 – 1971.  He retired from logging in 1995. After retiring he and his wife traveled across the country in their RV, settling at Luxury RV Resort in Gulf Shores, AL.  He became the night manager and maintenance supervisor until his passing.  He never met a stranger from the north or south. Pallbearers will be Scott Avery, Chris Miller, Doug Robertson, Lance Miller, Scott Renn, Robert Renn, John Michael Johnson, and Darin Atkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. John Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spurgin, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Beckham, Steve and Laurie Dagro, Leola and Danny Ferrell, Jerry and Diane McCreary, Don Vawter, Bill and Kay Oswalt, Zane and Kim Shackelford, Barry and Pat Shackelford, Wanda Beard, Diane Spurgin, Garry and Karen Ishee, Tommy and Cynthia Ishee, Art and Joyce Johnson, Larry and Vicki Green, Kay Cook, and employees of Luxury RV Resort.
