Jewell Kilgore

Jewell Kilgore, age 89 of Berry, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Fayette Long Term Care. Services will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Whitson Place Church of Christ. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Artie Kilgore; sisters, Blanche Kilgore and Kathy Kilgore; brothers, Larkin Kilgore, Lathon Kilgore and Jimmy Kilgore; niece, Brandi Gurganus; and nephew, Scott Kilgore. She is survived by her sisters, Geneva Bonner, Almedia Gant and Georgia Gurganus all of Berry; and brothers, Gordon Kilgore of Cottondale and Virgil Kilgore (Charlotte) of Gulf Shores; sister-in-law, Helen Kilgore of Berry. Pallbearers are Kent Bonner, Gary Gant, Rodney Kilgore, Troy Locke, Jonathon Locke, Patrick Kilgore and Heath Bonner. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Fred Yerby and the staff at the nursing home, and Ms. Jewell’s special roommate, Jewel Whitt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flatwoods Cemetery.
