Jesse Owel Newman

Jesse Owel Newman, age 86 of Fayette, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Al. Service for Mr. Newman will be Wednesday, August, 13, 2025, at Fayette Methodist Church, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Terry Mcadams and Rev. Glen Bowman will be ministering.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Kennedy City Cemetery. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Mr. Newman is preceded in death by parents; William Grady and Iva Ayers Newman, brothers; Jack Newman and Armon Newman; and grandson Christopher Kevin Newman.

He is survived by his wife; Carol Ann Taylor Newman, daughters; Deborah Carol Richards (Jeff), Hope Ann Bailey (Chad), sons; Stephen Gerard Newman (Camethia), Christopher Kevin Newman (Tia), sister; Brenda Roberts, brother; Bob Newman, grandchildren; Kyle Newman (Martha), Beth Moody (Ben), Sarah Creel (Jon), Coty Vick, Jessica Gressett (Trent), Anna Leigh Daniel (James), Cole Newman (Erin), Sam Newman, Isabella Newman, Newman Bailey, Carol Grace Bailey, great grandchildren; Caje Creel, Kinsley Creel, John Asher Newman, Norah Jane Newman, Darcy Moody, Morgan Moody, Daisen Vick, Harvey Drake Gressett, Murray Hope Gressett, James Wise Daniel, Christopher Dean Newman, Mary Scott Newman

Jesse Owel Newman was born in Lamar County, Alabama on September, 30, 1938. He loved the Lord and his wife Carol Ann to which he had been married to for 68 years after becoming 1st grade sweethearts. He loved his family and was always proud of them. He thought the more grands and great-grands that he had, "the prettier they got". Mr. Newman spent years enjoying golfing with his friends, family, and especially his sons. He often claimed he could beat them both! He had an unmatched work ethic and he was the one we called for everything. After all, he could fix just about anything, from lawnmowers to installing sprinkler systems. After retirement, he enjoyed attending many Alabama football games, gardening, and traveling with his wife. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be, Kyle Newman, Jon Creel, Ben Moody, James Daniel, Trent Gressett, Sam Newman, Newman Bailey, Caje Creel.
