James Morrison

James Edward “Jimmy” Morrison, age 79 of Winfield, passed away on March 15, 2023, at his residence. Visitation will be Saturday 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Services will be Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Wyatt Chapel. Burial will follow at Sand Springs Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyal Morrison, and Edna Mae Corkerin; wife, Joann Morrison; daughter, Kathy Morrison; sons, Mark Morrison, and Michael Morrison; sisters, Janie Faye Morrison and Shirley Diane Corbin; brother, Robert “Bobby” Morrison; grandchildren, Jacob Keeton, Braxton Morrison, and Joshua Keeton.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Hudson, and Melinda “Sissy” Morrison ; sons, James Daniel Morrison, Jimmy Morrison Jr., Roger Morrison (Mary), Charles Keeton (Barbara); sister, Mary Parker; brothers, Dennis Morrison (Rosie), Wyman Dale Morrison (Barbara), Paul Morrison (Rhonda); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James Morrison was born on December 16, 1943. He worked most of his life as a pulp wooder, then as a farmer. He loved and adored his wife, Joann Morrison. He loved his children and thought his grandkids hung the moon. His favorite thing to do was take his grandsons fishing. He lived a simple country life. If it was nice outside you could count on him either going fishing, sitting on the front porch, or at one of the grandbabies’ ballgames. He never met a stranger and would try to help anyone that asked.

Pallbearers will be Eric Morrison, Nathan Morrison, Matthew Morrison, Noah Morrison, Matt Sanders, TJ Keeton, JR Keeton, and Michael Morrison.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brenton Morrison and Cade Morrison.
