James Otis Minyard

James Otis Minyard, age 95 of Fayette, passed away at his home Friday, December 9, 2022. Services for Mr. Minyard will be Monday, December 12, 2022 at Norwood – Wyatt Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Martin, Rev. Judy Elmore, Bro. Clyde Stevens and Honorable Judge William Oswalt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior, and burial will follow the service at Fayette Memorial Gardens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Minyard, parents, brothers, sisters and granddaughter Tomee Pinion Williamson. He is survived by his daughters, Pat Earnest (Paul), Linda Nabors (Allen), Charlotte West (Eddie Hon), Debra Harper; grandchildren, Tammie Cupit, Rusty Edmonson, Pam Cannon, Jody Pinion, Shawna Vann, Matthew West, Zac Smith, Shannon Smith, 18 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews. James Otis Minyard was born and raised in Birmingham, Al. During World War II he served in the Air Force in Germany and France. He later moved to Berry, Al where he got married, raised four daughters, and attended Berry Methodist Church. He eventually moved to Fayette where he attended Trinity Church of God for a number of years. He loved to stay active in National and State level politics. He loved to spend time with friends and family and was a very hard-working man. He will be missed by many.
