James Burns

James Burns, age 71 of Fayette, Alabama, passed away October 28, 2022, at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham. Services for Mr. Burns will be Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Norwood – Wyatt Chapel with Robert Burns officiating. The body will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Gordo, Alabama. Mr. Burns is survived by his wife, Martha Sue Burns; daughters, Carol Funderburk, Angel Bishop; sons, Jason Burns, Kevin Funderburk (Rachel), Billy Wayne Funderburk, Dustin Warren (Stacy); sister, Linda Richardson (Clarence); brother, Roger Burns (Sharon); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Betty Burns, and son Justin Clifton Burns. James Arthur Burns was born on December 9, 1951. He worked at Coral Industries and Phifer Wire for a number of years. Pallbearers will be Jason Burns, Kevin Funderburk, Billy Wayne Funderburk, Dustin Warren, Robert Mordecai, and Randy Dison.
