Imogene Welburn Fowler

February 4, 1925 — February 2, 2018

Imogene Welburn Fowler, age 92, of Seymour, Tennessee passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. There will be a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Bankston City Cemetery with her daughter-in-law, Vivian Fowler, officiating and Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home directing. Imogene was born February 4, 1925. She was a member of Seymour United Methodist Church. She owned Top Dog Grooming in North Knoxville until she retired. She will be remembered as a person who never met a stranger and loved talking to people and loved life. When anyone would come into her life, she would make them feel like part of her family. She was very involved in all her children and grandchildren's lives as her family was her life. She was a strong supporter of all the children's sports and activities. She was someone you could always count on for help in any way. She was a lifelong seamstress, and in her later years she was an avid quilter. She made all her children and grandchildren quilts. She was loved by many and will be terribly missed by her family; she was our best friend, confidant and greatest cheerleader in life. Her family and friends celebrated her life and birthday at home on February 4th. Imogene was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Harris Welburn and mother, Gertrude Lawrence Welburn; brother, J. Harris Welburn Jr. Imogene is survived by her daughter, Brenda F. Kirby; son, James “Jim” H. Fowler; daughter-in-law, Vivian D. Fowler; and daughter Trudee Oxindine; grandson, Warren “Kip” T. Kirby (Kelly); granddaughter, Joy C. Jones (Nathan); granddaughter, Trisha G. Brady and granddaughter, Azurdee Miller (Japhy Frey); five great grandchildren, Justin (Megan), Jacob, Zachary (Danielle), Brady and Bishop. Also, five great-great grandchildren, Blakely, Allie, Westley, Chase, Khloe and Cole. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Imogene's memory may be made to Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 911, Seymour, Tennessee 37865 US or to a charity of your choice.
