Obituary

Herman Joseph Weber, age 92, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Park Manor Health and Rehabilitation.

There will be a Funeral Mass Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time with a Rosary Service starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Father Michael Deering will be officiating the Mass. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home will be directing the service.

Herman was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to George A. Weber, Jr. and Aline Blanchard Weber on October 19, 1933. He attended elementary and junior high school at St. John’s Catholic School in Tuscaloosa. He graduated high school in 1951 from St. Bernard High School in Cullman, Alabama. He attended St. Bernard Junior College for a year then transferred to the University of Alabama before joining the United States Navy in 1955. Herman proudly served his country as a Naval Aviation Electronic Technician for 3 years and 11 months. While serving, he was stationed at the Naval Air Station on Midway Island in Hawaii.

He married Hazel Reynolds on November 23, 1985, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He worked in maintenance for Gulf States Paper Corporation for 18 years. Later, he worked as an electrician in Jim Walter’s Resources Mine No. 4 in Brookwood, Alabama. He later retired from there at the age of 65.

Herman was a cherished and faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he volunteered and participated as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for many years. His legacy of kindness and compassion will be remembered by all who knew him.

Herman was a die-hard Alabama fan who never missed a football or softball home game. Whether they were winning or losing, he was decked out in team gear, cheering louder than anyone else, and giving the officials a hard time. He spent many years making unforgettable memories of going to road games with his grandsons, Brian, Todd, and Nick.

Herman is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; brother, Clarence; sister, Irma White; son, Joseph; daughter, Beth Junkins; and parents, George and Aline Weber.

Herman is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Hinton (Tim), Tina Mobley (Mark), and Joan Dockery (Paul); sister, Dot Deslattes; Grandchildren, Brian Hinton (Elise), Brittany Syx (Matthew), Cristin Geeslin, Todd Hinton (Jennifer), Ashton Holbrook (Knight), Nicholas Mobley, and Nichole Dockery; and great-Grandchildren, Mazie Hinton and Doc Holbrook.

Pallbearers will be Brian Hinton, Todd Hinton, Nicholas Mobley, Brandon White, Brian Harvard, and Paul Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Park Manor Health and Rehabilitation Nurses and staff, DCH Nurses and Doctors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
