Elloweese Savage “Nanny” entered life on October 6, 1951 born to the late Fred and Ida Bell Blackburn in Tuscaloosa, AL. She grew up in Moore’s Bridge area of Tuscaloosa County and later moved to Fayette, AL. She departed this life on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Diversicare of Winfield, AL. Services will be Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Nanny was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many people. She was blessed to have and raise ten children. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family, spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards, and sharing all of her great stories. Also, she didn’t mind letting ANYONE know how she felt about anything or anybody. In other words, she didn’t play. With all that being said, Nanny was always there for her loved ones, and knew exactly what to do to fix anything. She worked at Sterilon in Fayette, AL as a Multi-purpose Production Sewer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ida Bell Blackburn; six brothers; four sisters; one child at birth; son, Fredrick Savage and grandson, Terail Blackburn. She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters: Ginger Blackburn, Sulinda Richardson, Eleane Savage, and Felicia (Marco) Wilson all of Fayette, AL; five sons: Tyrone Savage, Maurice (Toni) Savage, Derek Savage all of Fayette, AL, Dwight (Angelika) Savage of Huntsville, AL, and Elijah Savage of Tuscaloosa, AL; three sisters: Kate Whiteside, Willie Blackburn and Eloise Blackburn all of Fayette, AL, May Bell Corder of Gordo, AL and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
