Donnie Finch

Donnie Finch, age 61 of Berry AL, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services for Mr. Finch will be at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:00p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service. 


Deacon Donnie Finch was born on February 19, 1963 to the union of the late Jessie and Gladys W. Finch in Fayette County Alabama. To this union he was the fifth of six children.



Donnie was baptized at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Daniel Bishop, was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Rev. Alton Cody, and he served faithfully until his health declined and his death under the leadership of Reverend Bobby Terrell.



Donnie was educated in the Fayette County School System. He was a graduate of the Class of 1981 at Berry High School. He also served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Berry Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad for many years.



Donnie transitioned from this life to eternal life on April 14, 2024 at Hospice of West Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama being surrounded by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other family members. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Gladys Finch, a brother, Jessie H. Finch, and a sister, Elease Epps.



Donnie leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sharon Nixon Finch, Berry, Alabama; two sons, Jessie Finch (Alyssa), Berry, Alabama and Maurice Nixon (Stefanie), Jasper, Alabama, his two grandchildren (Rylan and Haizlee), his mother-in-law, Mrs.

Josephine Nixon, Jasper, Alabama, two sisters: Chlora Bradley, Berry, Alabama, and Diana Donaldson, of Tennessee, and a brother, Minister Ronnie Finch, Laredo, IX, and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.


Pallbearers will be Eric Finch, Ronnie Finch, Ir.Eugene Clay, Adam Sutton, Ashton Gay,Chris Finch.



Honorary Pallbearers Floyzell Gay Alen Finch, Flower Bearers, Natasha Finch, Marie Finch, Kristin Finch Alyssa Cox, Morgan Finch Stefanie Thomas.
