He was born on December 16, 1939, to the late Dawson and Levert Strickland.

He is survived by his beloved bride of 64 years, Charlotte Faye Strickland; his children, Dale Boothe (Peggy), Michelle Hysaw, Jason Strickland (Shannon), Kaci Moore (Michael), and Christy Anders (Brian); his grandchildren, Kayla Barker, Karlee Marlowe (Nate), Anna McDaniel, Brody Hysaw, Braxton Hysaw, Sunnie Strickland, Devin Kelly, Alexis Kelly, Tyler Moore, Ellah Moore, Lee Anders, and Lily James Anders; and his great-grandchildren, Sawyer Marlowe and Sadie Marlowe. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue Thompson, Winfred Strickland, Tommy Strickland, Anita Ingram, Betty Kyzer, and Michael Strickland, as well as his cherished pet, Bella.

Bobby deeply valued his family and, above all, his relationship with God. He was a devoted man of faith who lived his life guided by Christian values. Bobby had a servant’s heart and cherished the opportunity to serve others through mission work in Honduras, where he helped those in need. His love for God and for helping others was evident in the way he lived his life each day.

He was an avid gardener, fisherman, and craftsman who loved spending time outdoors. Bobby had a remarkable mind and a gift for building and creating; he could build almost anything. He built and operated the family restaurant, The Front Porch, alongside his wife until their retirement.

Bobby worked tirelessly for his family and was known for his selfless spirit and willingness to help others. A friend to all, he was rarely without conversation and companionship. He enjoyed raising Nigerian goats and show chickens and took pride in caring for them. Above all, he adored his family and was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was lovingly known by many as “PawPaw.”

Pallbearers will be Devin Kelly, Brody Hysaw, Braxton Hysaw, Brian Anders, Nate Marlowe, and Max Cole.

Honorary pallbearers include Gwen Mayhew, Elvis Pate, and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Christianaires Ministries, Inc.
