Lloyd Truman "Uncle Billy" Watson

Lloyd Truman “Uncle Billy” Watson, age 93, of Tuscaloosa, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018. There will be a graveside service Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Pastor Charles Lenn officiating and Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home directing.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. James Lemuel Watson and Gladys Mount Watson and Lucie Olive Watson; brother, Jimmy L. Watson; and sister, Olivia Beaty. Mr. Watson is survived by a nephew, Lloyd Patterson; nieces, Jannyne Patrick, Linda Collins, Stephanie Babbitt, Dyanne Jordan, Janet Sexton and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews. He studied ballet and tap and was a dancer on stage in Hollywood in his young life. He came back to Tuscaloosa because he did not approve of the moral atmosphere of Hollywood. He owned several flower shops and taught floral design. He won several awards for his floral designs. He never married and was quite comfortable in his own company. He kept a beautifully decorated home. He financially supported missions in Nevis for many years and sponsored a child there as well. He had pets that he loved dearly. He was a strong Christian and loved his family. He loved good food, lots of sugar in his coffee, the company of friends and family and lived a good and decent life.
