We will celebrate the life of an extraordinary mother, grandmother, a faithful servant of the Lord, and a constant source of light for everyone around her.

She was the most present mother and grandmother, never missing a moment, never passing up an opportunity to love. Her greatest joy was her family, and her deepest mission was to make her children and grandchildren feel cherished. She would always go out of her way to make her grandkids laugh—sometimes with a funny face, sometimes with a silly story, always with love in her heart. It didn’t matter what else was happening; if she could bring a smile to their faces, her day was made.

Her life was a testimony of sacrifice. She gave everything—her time, her energy, her very self—so that her children could thrive. There was never a moment when she put her own needs ahead of those she loved. Caring for others was simply who she was.

She served the Lord with a heart full of faith, using her beautiful gifts to glorify Him. Her voice, and also playing the organ for years at Taylorville Methodist Church.

In these last few years, she faced unimaginable health challenges—one after another. But what stands out is not the hardship—it’s her grace. She never complained. Through it all, she kept smiling, she kept loving, and she kept inspiring. The nurses she encountered would always find their way to check on her and to tell her family what a precious woman she was, not just because she was kind, but because she smiled even when she was in pain to let them know she appreciated them.

Her selflessness never wavered. Even as she faced her own struggles, her heart was always turned toward others. And in her final chapter, she was blessed with the loving care of her own mother—a bond that came full circle. She adored her mother, and the tenderness they shared in that last year was a precious reminder of the love from one generation to the next.

Today, we grieve. We miss her laugh, her touch and her smile. But we also give thanks. We are grateful for the love she poured into us, for the memories we will carry, and for the example she set—a life of devotion, joy, resilience, and unwavering love.

She has left this world, but her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, in the faith she practiced, and in the laughter, she sparked in her grandchildren’s eyes.

May we honor her by living as she did—with love, with courage, and with a heart that always finds a reason to smile.
