Alvin Snider, age 71, of Millport, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The family will have a private graveside service for Mr. Snider. Services will be announced at a later date. Norwood-Wyatt Chapel will be directing the service.

Alvin is preceded in death by his father; Claude Snider Jr., mother; Mildred Parker, wife; Lorene “Tidwell” Snider, brothers; Johnny Snider, Ronnie Snider, Thomas Snider, Junior Snider, Robert Snider, grandchildren; Austin Snider and Emma Snider.

He is survived by his daughter; Tisha Snider (Andrew), son; DeWade Snider (Lauren), brothers; Terry Snider, Rondal Snider and grandchildren; Magen Snider, Kyle Snider, Mason Snider, Caitlyn Colburn, Dawson Colburn, Hunter Colburn, Savanna Colburn, Elijah Snider, and Parker Snider that Alvin loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be; DeWade Snider, Jimmy Ray Parker, Andrew Colburn and Steve Patrick.

Alvin Snider was born on June 15th, 1955 and passed on August 18th, 2026. He was a man who loved his children, but the love he had for his grandchildren far outweighed that of his own. Alvin was tough as nails and as stubborn as a mule, both qualities forming the man everyone loved and knew. He made a life for himself and his family by working within the woods carrying logs and brush out as well as operating skidders and other equipment. He was known as a “D.I.Y” kind of man that would figure out any issues with ease. Alvin’s father as well as his fathers’ brothers were known within the Millport area for their Pulp Wood City namesake. He will be missed by his family, friends, and his community.
