Alice Louise Monroe, age 70 of Fayette, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Services will be Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her mother, two brothers, Robert Franks and Van Monroe; two sisters, Rosa Mae Lee and Mary Jane Kemp. Alice Louise Monroe was born to Jane Monroe and Calvin Wilson on May 6, 1949 in Fayette, AL. She accepted Christ and was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where she was active until her healthy prevented her to attend. Mrs. Monroe is survived by her father, Rev. Calvin Wilson of Chicago, IL; son, James Kelly Monroe of Bibb County; one daughter, Mary Lorriane Stowe (Brian); five grandchildren, Keon and Kelonnie Hughes of Fayette, Keithen Kinnie of Rhode Island, Takia Danyel Stowe of Fayette, and Ashanti English of Mobile; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Monroe (Regina) of Fayette and John Monroe (Maxine) of Peru, Indiana; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends; and a special friend Lena Faye Hughes. Pallbearers will be Markesh Frank, Randy Loyd, Danny Kaye Hughes, William Monroe, Tyrus Cannon, J.B. Sullivan, and Donavis Ryan. Honorary pallbearer will be Micheal Hill, Cedric Wilson, Charles Franks, James L. Kemp, John Van Monroe III.
