Aileene Sexton McConnell

Aileene Sexton McConnell, age 83 of Fayette, passed away March 5, 2020. Services will be Monday, March 9, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel with Dr. Scott Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Fayette Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by husbands, Billy Sexton, and Larry McConnell, great grandson, Hunter McDonald, and son, Mike Sexton. Continuing to love her is life-long friend and companion, Ben Rushing, granddaughter, Katie (Matthew) McDonald and great grandchildren Sydney and TJ. Ms. Aileene spent much of her young adult life as a spectacular florist for Moore's Flowers in Fayette, and Jitney Jungle stores across the southeast. She served on many boards and committees at Fayette First Baptist Church, spear headed projects, and organized frequent class reunions for the FCHS class of of 1954. Once retired, her life was all about family. She loved to cook, tell stories and reminisce about "the good ole days". Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, who she thought "hung the moon".
