James A. Byars

Mr. James A. Byars age 75 of Byars Crossing, Winfield, Al. passed away Thursday August 19, 2010 at the Northport DCH Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21st at 4:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. W. C. Green, Bro. C. J. Townsend, and Bro. Chad Manion officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union cemetery. James was born August 30, 1934 the son of the late Franklin Byars and Pauline Hubbert Byars. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and had been a resident of the Wayside Community for 75 years. He retired from the Fayette Cotton Mill after 38 years of service and was a well known Cattle farmer in Fayette County. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Colvin Byars; 2 daughters, Penny Brand, Fayette, AL. and Paula (Jim) Hand, Fayette, Al.; 3 sons, Steve (Cathy) Byars, Ricky (Barbara) Byars, Jammy (Ginger)Byars all of Fayette, AL.; Stepdaughter, Angela (Sonny) Laster, San Marcos, TX., Step-sons, Brian Colvin, Austin, TX, Billy (Celeste) Colvin, Marianna, AR.; 2 Brothers, Joe (Donette) Byars and Jimmy Ray Byars. 15 Grandchildren; his former wife, Mildred Stewart He was preceded in death by: his wife, Belinda Byars; son, Randy Byars; grandchildren, Jason Byars and Justin Byars; parents, Franklin and Pauline Byars; sisters, Edrelle Dillard and Ezelle Reed. Pallbearers are Jake Byars, Joey Byars, Heath Byars, Jimmy Byars, Kyle Byars, Jason Boyce, Hunter Jamerson, Ryan Jamerson; Honorary Pallbearers are Jordon Byars, Brady Hand.
