Mrs. Minor was born on May 7, 1920 in Beaverton, Alabama and passed away on August 1, 2010 at the Ruston Nursing and Rehab Center in Ruston, LA. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 60 years and held numerous offices and positions in the organization. She was a member of the ladies Auxiliary VFW as well. Mrs. Minor was a lifelong member of Beaverton Methodist Church where she had served as a beloved Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer for the church. Mrs. Minor had a great love for nature and life and enjoyed working in her yard, feeding the birds and animals, traveling, visiting with family and friends. Survived by a Sister: Mary Lee Poore Corley of Florien, LA, a Niece and Caregivers: Mary Corley Lee and husband Kitt Lee of Ruston, LA, a Sister-in-Law: Janette Whitehead of Oak Grove, Al, A host of Nieces and Nephews: Tommy Corley, Johnny Corley, Alan Corley, Terry Whitehead, Kerry Whitehead, Gary Whitehead, Judy Baisden, Pat Smith, Carla Faile, Joe Lance Minor, Bob Anderson, Mackey Otts, and Dwain Smith. Friend and Caregiver, Louise Sprinkle. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Norman Minor, and Parents, Luther C. and Stella Mae Stanford Poore and Sister, Johnnie Lou Poore. Services held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 9: A M from the Beaverton Methodist Church with burial in the Beaverton Cemetery. Bro. Shane Harris officiating. Pallbearers were Nephews: Jason Lee, Paul Lee, Brian Lee, Doug Atkins, Bob Anderson, and Mackey Otts. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Beaverton Methodist Church or Beaverton Cemetery. Visitation: Friday, August 6, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM at Norwood Funeral Home
