Clara Shackelford

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Friendship Baptist Church with Dr. J.R. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Clara Lucille Shackelford was born December 30, 1924 in Fayette County the daughter of the late Carlos Shackelford and Berta Fleming Shackelford. She died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL. She lived in Fayette most of her life and formerly lived in Chicago, Ill. She was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Aline Haley and Charlene Gary of Fayette; one brother, Riley Shackelford of Fayette; twenty-six nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Mae Shackelford and Eunice T. Wamget; two brothers, Mitchell Shackelford and Roy Shackelford.
