Bernice Hales

Bernice (Bea) Hales passed from this life to her heavenly home Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. There will be a graveside service Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Norwood-Wyatt Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Northwood Hills Baptist Church. She was born February 24, 1926, Bea is preceded in death by her parents, Vester and Nettie Brown; sisters, Mae Shirley (Red), Erma McBride (Howard); brother, Clayton Brown (Kathryn) and husbands, Bill Deal and Raymond Hales. She is survived by step-sons, Bill Deal (Dee) and Dr. Randy Hales (Margaret), step-daughters, Carolyn Couch (Bobby), Linda Crouch (Jimmy) and Brenda Hales and families. Also, special nieces and care-givers, Nell Fair and T’Lene Barringer (Johnny); niece, Amy Brown; and nephews, David Brown (Deborah) and Paul Brown; devoted great-nephew, Joseph Fair; and game playing partner great-great-niece, Julianna Fair; granddaughters, Kelly Kauffman (Brian) and son Tyler and Bethany Sharp (Jonathan) and daughters Eliana and Isabella. Special friends, Elaine Acker, George Hodgson, Cinda Perry and Randy Allen. Pallbearers will be Joseph Fair, Danny Barringer, David Brown and Randy Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ross Vaughn and the pastors and her many friends of First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa where Bea was an active member so long as she was able to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama, First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa or your favorite charity.
