Eloise Gurganus

Eloise Earnest Gurganus, age 82, passed away May 21, 2017 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel, officiating will be Victor Bonner, Jr. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery. Mrs. Gurganus was preceded in death by her father, Ollius Earnest; her mother, Ardelia Earnest; and her husband, Clement Gurganus. Mrs. Gurganus was a lifelong resident of the Flatwood Community. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and sewing, but her greatest joy was in her family. You could always count on her for honesty Christian advice and any help she could give. She led her family with strong morals, gentle pride and fierce love. She will be missed every day. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Gurganus (Carlos) Connell of Oakman, AL; sons, Jeffrey Gurganus (Melinda) and Joseph Gurganus (Lisa) both of Berry, AL; sister, Eulene Earnest Smallwood of Slidell, LA; brothers, Milford Earnest of Oakman, AL, Paul Earnest and Dwight Earnest both of Berry, AL; eight grandchildren, Chris Connell, Trena Wise, Jeremy Gurganus, Johnathan Gurganus, Jason Gurganus, Christie Pendley, Austin Gurganus and Josh Gurganus; eleven great-grandchildren, Cody and Abby Connell, Christian Weaver, Bella and Rylee Wise, Bridget and Jakob Gurganus, Houston and Zachary Gurganus, Benjamin Taggart and Lane Pendley. Pallbearers are Chris Connell, Ronald Smallwood, Jeremy Gurganus, Johnathan Gurganus, Jason Gurganus, and Shane Pendley.
