Austin Brasher

August 18, 1994 — February 18, 2017

Austin Blaine Brasher, age 22, of Fayette, Ala., died February 18, 2017, at UAB Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Unity Baptist Church with Shawn McDaniel, Joe Fondren and Ray Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in Carrollton, Ala. with Norwood-Wyatt Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey M. Brasher and grandmother, Joyce Jones Ray. Survivors include his mother, Pamela Ray Brasher; sister, Jennifer, L. Brasher (Matthew Madison); grandparents, James ""John"" Brasher and Doris Brasher and Jackie Ray; aunts, Pam B. Dennis (Tim) and Tonya Wilkins (Jason); and cousins, Lauren Wakefield (Samuel) and their children, Will and Hallie, Lindsey Hoggle and daughter, Raleigh, Tyler and Ethan Wilkins. Austin was a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend who loved his family with everything he had. He was an avid golfer and spent many of his weekends playing co-ed softball with his friends. Austin loved life and spending time with those that meant most to him. He had a great sense of humor that could light up a room and always had a smile on his face. He was always there for his friends and had a huge heart that was always ready to help anyone in need. Pallbearers will be Justin Cook, Joey Seals, Seth Hall, Coleman McWaters, Blake Gann, Kash Ellison, Kade Terry, Robert Baker, Tevin Hambright, and JP Beasley. Honorary pallbearers are the Fayette County Class of 2013, Lincoln College of Technology Class of 2014, members of the Fayette County Country Club, Melvin Ware, John Jount, Luke Kaelin, Blake Foshee, Trevor Messamore, Brandon Spaid, Michael Parsons, Johnjon – Nathan Holt, Joe Webb, Kelsey Dale Abell, Carl Gray, Austin Blaine, Blake Coffmen and Steven Bridgman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1811 Lewis Crossroads Road, Carrollton, AL 35447 and Fayette Country Club, P. O. Box 841 Fayette, AL 35555.
