Phillip Johnson, age 71 of Fayette passed away October 25, 2016 at home. Services will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel with Pastor Randy Harris officiating. Visitation will follow the service. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Johnson; daughter, Tamika Johnson; sons, Phillip K. Johnson and Marcus Phillip Foster; sisters, Betty Grider and Florence Oates. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eva Tardy, Odessa Robinson, Flossie Sims, Mary Bailey; brothers, Johnny Johnson, Melvin Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, Jr., and Bobby Johnson; parents Lawrence Arrington Johnson and Lovie Mae Johnson. Phillip Johnson was born to the union of Lawrence Arrington and Lovie Mae Johnson on July 16, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Phillip was reared, educated, married, and had his family in Indianapolis and gave military service July 19, 1963 through July 9, 1966 (United States Army Medical Corps). Phillip lived his life to the fullest and took a great leap of faith uniting in marriage to Jacqueline October 1, 2010 in Fayette, AL where they both followed with that commitment to the Lord through fellowship with Crossview Community Church, Fayette, Al and submitted to re-baptism on Sunday, October 16, 2016 by Pastor Randy Harris (assisted by Keith and Marcus). Phillip and Jackie were blessed to experience exactly six years of learning, growing and fulfilling their marriage vows… “until death do us part,” when Phillip having found total peace passed from life to death to eternal life on early Tuesday morning, October 25, 2016. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and friends to celebrate his life.
