Jimmie Nell Smith passed away October 10, 2016 at Northport DCH. Services will be Saturday, October, 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. Interment will follow at Boone Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elsie Cannon; brothers Aaron, Clyde, Martin, Joe, Cecil and Ike Cannon; sisters Imogene, Beatrice, Eula Mae Cannon and Virgie Pennington; and her grandchild Evelyn Jane Watkins. She is survived by her daughters Joyce Darlene Griffin (Brian Hipp and Benny Griffin) and Jimmie Marie Jones (Greg Davidson)’ son George Watkins, Jr (Beth) sister Joyce Crawford-Waterford; friends Elizabeth Griffin and Linda Kirkley, ex-husband, George Watkins, Sr; grandchildren Kayla (Chase), Tiffany (Dustin), James Allen (Maleah) Dalton, Sierra, Nicole (Brian), Nathaniel, Kimberly (Justin) Cameron, Ashley, Kayden, Kirsten. Jimmie Nell Smith, 65 years old, from Fayette, Al, lived in Coker, Al, with her daughter, Marie, her care giver. She was a very good woman, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved all of her family, friends, nieces, nephews, and loved spending time with them. She loved her Dr. Pepper, snuff, and popcorn. Second Corinthians 5:8-9, “Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him.” Pallbearers will be James Allen Watkins, Cameron Griffin, Chase Odom, Benny Griffin, Brian Hipp, and Carl Cannon. Honorary pallbearers are Dalton Griffin and Nathaniel Watkins
