Maxine Lay

Maxine Lay, age 81 of Fayette passed away July 28, 2016 at home. Services will be Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood-Wyatt Chapel with Rev. Lynell Early and Rev. Stephen Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at Fayette Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by sons, Cecil Eugene Lay and Billy Jack Lay; grandson, Joseph Driver; and four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, James Billy Lay; daughters, Linda (Danny) Gann, Brenda (Jackie) Nelson, and Cheryl (Brad) Crawford; sons, James (Ann) Lay, Raymond Lay, and Joe (Patsy) Lay; sister, Bonnie (DH) Kizzire; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richard White, Jr., Chris Driver, Daniel Gann, Sam Salman, Josh Norris, Keith Ryan, Jordan Roberts, and John Underwood. Honorary pallbearers are Fayette Medical Center Home Care Holly Brock, RN and Lisa Griggs, LPN, Alabama Hospice – Kerry Peterson, Fayette Medical Center, Dr. Call, Dr. Yerby, Dr. Breitling, and Dr. Otero.
