Hubert E Lee

Hubert E Lee, age 87, of Tuscaloosa, was born on December 20, 1928 in Winfield, Ala. and died May 14, 2016, at home after a lengthy illness. He retired after 37 years from the State of Alabama Highway Department. He loved Alabama football, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeffie and Ollie Lee and sister, Maxine Smith. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Jewel Dean Lee; son, Philip Lee (Regina); daughters, Kay Wood (Steve), Vickie Mitchell (Gregg) and Judith Wyatt (Chad); eleven grandchildren, seventeen great- grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; sister, Pauline Turner; brothers, Dolphus Lee, Dossie Lee and Jimmy Lee; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Lee, Drake Jones, Dru Jones, Blake Mitchell, Bryant Mitchell and Chad Hunter Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Wyatt Sunday School class, E. M. and Iver Arnold, Jack and Peggy Falls, Gary and Judy Hill, friends and neighbors of Hillcrest Gardens, Dr. Ross Vaughn, Dr. William Hill, Dr. Tosh Atkins, Davita, Hospice of West Alabama and a special thanks to his caregiver, Dee "Skeet'' Ford. Services will be 12 noon Monday, May 16, 2016, at Valley View Baptist Church with Bro. Brannon Pinion and Bro. Billy Joy officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be today, May 15, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of West Alabama.
